廣州市市政工程設計研究院（以下簡稱市政院）是一個具有60年歷史的科技型單位，其前身是廣州市建設局設計科。廣州市市政工程設計研究院成立于1984年，是國家建設部核準的市政公用甲級勘察設計單位。
      本院下設綜合部、市場拓展部、生產(chǎn)技術(shù)部、人力資源部、財務部、總工辦共6個管理部門及設計一所、設計二所、設計三所、設計四所、設計五所、設計六所、技術(shù)經(jīng)濟所、軌道交通所等八個專業(yè)設計所，道橋給排水工程中心、土木檢測中心、公共交通研究中心三個中心。設有佛山分院、南沙分院、深圳分院、珠海分院、東莞分院、花都分院、昆明分院、武漢分院、南寧分院、福建分院。全資及控股、參股公司有：廣州市政技術(shù)開發(fā)公司、廣州市市政工程顧問有限公司、廣州廣嘉設備安裝有限公司、廣州宏偉工程承包有限公司、廣州市政物業(yè)管理公司、廣州市市政工程施工圖審查中心。

        Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute was founded in 1984. It is municipal public and investigation design institute of Class A approved by Construction Ministry, with a history of 60 years, whose predecessor was the Design Section of Guangzhou Construction Bureau.
        The Institute has six administrative departments: Integration Department, Production &. Technique Department, Market-Expanding Department, Human Resources Department, Total Engineers’ Department and Finance Department; Eight design departments: Design Department I, II, III, IV V and VI, Technical Economy Bureau and Rail Traffic Bureau ; 2 specialty centers: Experiment Research Center and Civil Testing center. Moreover, we also have the following branches: Foshan Branch Institute, Nansha Branch Institute, Zhuhai Branch Institute, Dongguan Design Department, Huadu Branch Institute, Kunming Branch Institute, Wuhan Branch Institute, Shenzhen Branch Institute, Fujian Branch Institute. Otherwise, we have entire capital enterprises, holding or share holding enterprises: Guangzhou Municipal technology development company, Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Consultation Co. Ltd., Guangzhou Guang Jia Equipment Installation Co. Ltd., Guangzhou Hongwei Project Contract Co. Ltd., Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Construction Drawing Reviewing Center.
