Report title: Urban water security and smart management in the context of dual carbon Speaker: Xia Jun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor of Wuhan University, and president of the Water Security Institute. He has been engaged in hydrology and water resources research for a long time. He obtained a doctorate degree in hydrology and water resources in 1985, and was selected into the "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2000. He was the chief scientist of the National 973 Project and was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015. He has obtained systematic research results in the time-varying nonlinear theory and practice of runoff formation and transformation, and applied them to the water management of the Yangtze River, Yellow River, Huaihe and other river basins in my country, as well as major water engineering management for flood control and disaster mitigation in Northwest China and cities, and climate change response. The construction of sponge cities, etc., has produced significant socio-economic and ecological and environmental benefits. He is also a member of the National Ecological Environmental Protection Expert Committee, the deputy director of the Environmental Science and Engineering Professional Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, and the deputy director of the National Separation Membrane Standardization Technical Committee.

 

He has long been committed to scientific research and engineering design in the fields of water security, special water pollution control, human settlements and confined spaces, toxic and harmful gas purification and other environmental engineering fields. It took the lead in proposing and successfully developing water treatment and air purification technologies and series of equipment with independent intellectual property rights, and achieved a number of breakthrough and creative achievements. Won 1 first prize, 4 second prizes, 2 third prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 7 first prizes and 12 second prizes of military and provincial science and technology awards and teaching achievement awards, and environmental protection science and technology awards He has won 1 science popularization award, authorized more than 50 national patents, published 8 monographs, and published more than 300 academic papers.
