污水處理間歇式活性污泥工藝的前世今生 

1.間歇式活性污泥工藝的發(fā)現(xiàn)

世界上第一個(gè)間歇式運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)的工藝是英國(guó)工程師 Sir Thomas Wardle于1898年發(fā)現(xiàn).該工藝含有化學(xué)沉淀和曝氣兩個(gè)處理過(guò)程。分成進(jìn)水期、曝氣期、沉淀期和排水期四個(gè)階段,但反應(yīng)器中沒(méi)有活性污泥。

十多年后Ardern and Lockett 在曼徹斯特實(shí)驗(yàn)室進(jìn)行了類似的間歇式運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)試驗(yàn),試驗(yàn)?zāi)康囊?jiàn)考察在沒(méi)有化學(xué)處理情況下僅通過(guò)一級(jí)曝氣處理達(dá)到完全消化的可能性,從而去除廢水中的有機(jī)物。在此之前的試驗(yàn)者在試驗(yàn)中一旦達(dá)到完全消化后就將廢水和泥一起倒掉,從而需很長(zhǎng)的曝氣時(shí)間和多級(jí)曝氣才能達(dá)到完全消 化而他們?cè)谠囼?yàn)中先將處理后的混合液進(jìn)行靜沉。然后撇去上清液,保持沉淀物, 再注入新的廢水進(jìn)行曝氣處理,這樣反復(fù)進(jìn)行試驗(yàn)后發(fā)現(xiàn):隨著重復(fù)次數(shù)的增加懸浮物和污泥產(chǎn)生量也越多,廢水凈化所需時(shí)間也越短, 他們對(duì)這種新的發(fā)現(xiàn)進(jìn)行了較詳細(xì)地分析研究,并在1914年4月3日“化學(xué)工業(yè)國(guó)際會(huì)議"上發(fā)表 了他們的發(fā)現(xiàn)和研究成果,其主要成果如下。

廢水通過(guò)曝氣后可形成一種稱為活性污泥的懸浮性物質(zhì),這種活性污泥的存在可使廢水凈化處理加快,但廢水凈化的速度與泥水混合強(qiáng)弱以及活性污泥多少相關(guān);活性污泥與通常的污泥有本質(zhì)的區(qū)別,活性污泥是探褐色,沒(méi)有氣味,具有良好的絮凝性,很好的沉降性,主要有細(xì)菌和單細(xì)胞生物組成(細(xì)菌數(shù)為34 萬(wàn)個(gè)/cm⊃3;) , 活性污泥含氮量較高;在活性污泥中沒(méi),有氧化的物質(zhì)可通過(guò)下次進(jìn)水前的再曝氣使其減少,在溫度10~24℃條件下, 廢水溫度對(duì)出水COD的去除率沒(méi)有影響。對(duì)于城市污水曝氣6~9h可得到完全消化,但前3h的曝氣對(duì)COD去除較快,對(duì)于某種廢水所必需的曝氣時(shí)間取決于廢水濃度和所需去除率。

然后,他們又將曝氣器改為陶瓷微孔板,進(jìn)行小氣泡供氣試驗(yàn),發(fā)現(xiàn)使用小氣泡供氣時(shí)氧的利用率更高由于試驗(yàn)中的工藝較簡(jiǎn)單,容易在實(shí)際污水處理工程 中應(yīng)用。上述試驗(yàn)成果在英國(guó)1914年的Salford市污水處理中得到直接應(yīng)用。Salford市污水處理設(shè)備設(shè)施是世界上第一個(gè)間歇式活性污泥設(shè)施,它由兩個(gè) 83m⊃3;的間歇式反應(yīng)器和預(yù)處理設(shè)施組成、運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)采用進(jìn)水45min,曝氣 3h,沉淀2h,排水1h,閑置15min,并獲得了較好的處理效果,COD去除率達(dá)90%以上。一年后美國(guó) Milmaukee市也建造了一座間歇式活性污泥設(shè)施。間歇式活性污泥工藝在發(fā)明以后,立即在工程上得到利用,這種間歇進(jìn)水,間歇排水的充排式運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)方式 是當(dāng)時(shí)主要的污水處理工藝。

連續(xù)進(jìn)水、間歇排水的間歇式活性污泥工藝由Hoover和Proges及Pasveer于 20 世紀(jì)50年代發(fā)現(xiàn)和完善,他們?cè)谘芯靠勺內(nèi)莘e氧化溝工藝時(shí)采用了連續(xù) 進(jìn)水方式,當(dāng)氧化溝反應(yīng)池中得到一定的水位時(shí)停止供氣,進(jìn)行沉淀和排水,但在沉淀和排水階段仍保持進(jìn)水。這種連續(xù)進(jìn)水、間歇排水的間歇式活性污泥法氧化溝工藝一直到 20 世紀(jì)70年代后期仍在實(shí)向污水處理中應(yīng)用。

2早期間歇式運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)中的間題

間歇式活性污泥工藝自發(fā)現(xiàn)和在工程中應(yīng)用后,人們很快發(fā)現(xiàn)這 種工藝對(duì)泵,攪拌器和曝氣器等設(shè)備需不斷進(jìn)行開(kāi)停轉(zhuǎn)換,在當(dāng)時(shí)的自動(dòng)化水平下運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)十分不方便。由于當(dāng)時(shí)的監(jiān)測(cè)和自動(dòng)控制技術(shù)水平的限制,運(yùn)行管理顯得過(guò)于繁瑣,同時(shí),人們還發(fā)現(xiàn):上清液從池中 排出時(shí)常會(huì)夾帶污泥,選成出水水質(zhì)的惡化;曝氣所用的空氣擴(kuò)散器很容易被沉淀丁池底的污泥堵塞。因而,間歇式活性污泥工藝在早期 實(shí)際上沒(méi)有大量推廣應(yīng)用。到20世紀(jì)50年代,隨看污水處理規(guī)模的 不斷擴(kuò)大,這種工藝漸漸被后來(lái)發(fā)展起來(lái)的連續(xù)流活性污泥法所替代。

3間歇式活性污泥工藝的系統(tǒng)性研究和應(yīng)用

隨著連續(xù)流活性污泥法技術(shù)在工程中的大量應(yīng)用,人們發(fā)現(xiàn)連續(xù) 流活性污泥法也有許多缺點(diǎn),這種工藝必須設(shè)調(diào)節(jié)池和污泥回流。這 樣不僅增加設(shè)備和運(yùn)行費(fèi)用,而且在水質(zhì)變化大的情況下運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)不理想, 污泥回流的控制也不方便;二沉池不是理想的靜態(tài),與間歇式活性污泥工藝靜沉相比,沉淀效果受異重流等因素的影響。連續(xù)流活性 污泥法會(huì)發(fā)生絲狀菌污泥膨脹。而上述缺點(diǎn)在間歇式活性污泥工藝污 水處押中都不會(huì)發(fā)生。在20世紀(jì)70年代,自動(dòng)控制技術(shù)日趨成熟,大量具有自控系統(tǒng)的閥門、流星計(jì),液位傳感器,定時(shí)控制設(shè)備在水 處理中得到了應(yīng)用,排水裝置的潷水器和防堵塞曝氣設(shè)備的開(kāi)發(fā)和應(yīng)用,使間歇式活性污泥上藝在早期實(shí)際工程應(yīng)用上的問(wèn)題得到了解 決。從而在70年代后期。間歇式活性污泥工藝才得到系統(tǒng)的研究和開(kāi)發(fā),并在污水處理工程中逐漸得到推廣應(yīng)用。

活性污泥

澳大利亞的 Goronszy 教授從連續(xù)進(jìn)水間歇運(yùn)行的氧化溝工藝著 手從事可變?nèi)莘e活性污泥法的研究和開(kāi)發(fā)。發(fā)現(xiàn)早期的連續(xù)進(jìn)水、 間歇出水的運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)方式所進(jìn)入的污水與池中已處理的水在沉淀和排水期會(huì)發(fā)生混合,從而影響出水效果在他的研究中,采用在反應(yīng)池中進(jìn)水 段用墻隔出一節(jié)的辦法來(lái)減少這種混合的發(fā)生,并將該污水處理方 法稱為ICEAS工藝。在該研究的基礎(chǔ)上,澳大利亞南威爾大學(xué)與美國(guó)ABJ公司合作于1976年建成世界上第一座ICEAS工藝污水處理廠。1978年Goronszy教授利用活性污泥基質(zhì)再生理論,根據(jù)基質(zhì)去除與污泥負(fù)荷實(shí)驗(yàn)結(jié)果以及污泥活性組成和污泥呼吸速率之間的關(guān)系,將生物選擇器原理應(yīng)用于間歇式活性污泥工藝中開(kāi)發(fā)出CASS工藝。于 1984年和1989年分別在美國(guó)和加拿大取得CASS工藝的專利。

美國(guó)Natre Dame大學(xué)Irvine教授及其同事在實(shí)驗(yàn)室以及在污水處 理工程實(shí)際中對(duì)于間歇進(jìn)水、間歇排水的活性污泥工藝進(jìn)行了系統(tǒng) 的研究。揭示了間歇式活性污泥工藝的科學(xué)技術(shù)基礎(chǔ)。為這種工藝的推廣應(yīng)用建立了理論依據(jù),Irvine稱這種間歇進(jìn)水,間歇排水的活性污泥工藝為SBR。SBR工藝中進(jìn)水,生物降解、沉淀、 排水都在一個(gè) 池中按時(shí)間順序進(jìn)行并不斷反復(fù)。80年代初美國(guó)Indiana州南部的 Culver市成功地將原有的連續(xù)流活性污泥裝置改建為雙池的SBR 反應(yīng)池,其BOD5和ss的去除率都達(dá)到94 %左右。

Goronszy和Irvine等對(duì)間歇式活性污泥工藝的系統(tǒng)性研究,為間歇式活性污泥工藝奠定了理論基礎(chǔ),并引起各國(guó)污水處理研究者的重視,各國(guó)研究者根據(jù)本地的實(shí)際情況又開(kāi)發(fā)了許多間歇式活性污泥工藝。美國(guó),日本、德國(guó)、加拿大等國(guó)迅速將間歇式處理工藝應(yīng)用于工業(yè)廢水和中小城鎮(zhèn)污水處理中,美國(guó),加拿大和日本等國(guó)并于20世紀(jì)80年代后期分別及時(shí)地對(duì)間歇式活性污泥工藝污水處理廠做了評(píng)價(jià),公布了間歇式活性污泥工藝技術(shù)報(bào)告書,日本于1990年出版了 《序批式活性污泥法設(shè)計(jì)指南》, 美國(guó)、德國(guó)等國(guó)也已出版了間歇式 活性污泥工藝法手冊(cè),德國(guó)于1997年還發(fā)布了相應(yīng)的設(shè)計(jì)規(guī)范。為了總結(jié)和推動(dòng)間歇式活性污泥工藝的應(yīng)用,國(guó)際水質(zhì)協(xié)會(huì)( IAWA)于 1996 在德國(guó)召開(kāi)了第一次間歇式活性污泥工藝學(xué)術(shù)研討會(huì)。據(jù)文獻(xiàn)報(bào)道,至1996年僅澳大利亞就有600多座問(wèn)歇式活性污泥法污水處理廠,美國(guó)僅AQUA AEROBIC SYSTEMS一家公司就已設(shè)計(jì)了350多座 SBR污水處理廠。

污水處理曝氣系統(tǒng)

我國(guó)對(duì)間歇式活性污泥工藝的研究與應(yīng)用始于20世紀(jì)80年代中期,上海市政工程設(shè)計(jì)院于20世紀(jì)80年代中期,設(shè)計(jì)了我國(guó)第一座生產(chǎn)性間歇式活性污泥工藝系統(tǒng)(上海市吳凇肉聯(lián)廠SBR 法污水處理站)。清華大學(xué)、同濟(jì)大學(xué)、北京市市政工程設(shè)計(jì)研究總院等研究設(shè)汁單位以及許多環(huán)境工程公司都對(duì)間歇式活性污泥工藝進(jìn)行過(guò)專項(xiàng)研究,并開(kāi)發(fā)了許多改進(jìn)的工藝系統(tǒng)。20世紀(jì)90年代初開(kāi)始,我 國(guó)陸續(xù)在城市生活污水,水產(chǎn)品加工、 屠宰廢水、肉類加工、制藥廢水和化工廢水等污水治理工程中使用了間歇式活性污泥工藝,目前間歇式活性污泥工藝已成為我國(guó)城市生活污水和工藝廢水處理中常用的處理工藝之一。

4.各種間歇式活性污泥工藝的比較和分析

最近二十多年對(duì)間歇式活性污泥工藝的系統(tǒng)件研究和在污水處理工程中的大量應(yīng)用,促進(jìn)了間歇式活性污泥工藝的發(fā)展。然而, 污 水處理工程中所采用工藝的適宜性總是與進(jìn)出水水質(zhì)特性、去除效果的要求等因素相關(guān),因此,世界各國(guó)在工程實(shí)踐中根據(jù)不同的水質(zhì)條件和去除要求發(fā)展了多種間歇式活性污泥工藝,這些工藝也在實(shí)際工程中得到應(yīng)用,表1僅列出目前文獻(xiàn)資料中和工程實(shí)際中常見(jiàn)的幾 種間歇式活性污泥工藝。除此而外, 針對(duì)某一特定的廢水處理,采用不同工藝組合發(fā)展了一些新的處理方法,如兩段SBR法,膜法SBR

工藝等 ,這此工藝都帶有間歇式活性污泥工藝的特點(diǎn)。

間歇式活性污泥工藝中英對(duì)照表

SBR工藝是國(guó)內(nèi)外研究最多和工桯應(yīng)用最廣的間歇式活性污泥法,我國(guó)SBR污水處理廠也較多。該方法按運(yùn)行次序?qū)⒁粋(gè)周期分為進(jìn) 水期、反應(yīng)期、沉淀期、排水期和閑置期5個(gè)階段,并進(jìn)行不斷的周期反復(fù)對(duì)污水進(jìn)行處理。該工藝進(jìn)水和排水都是間歇式,一個(gè)周期中各個(gè)階段的運(yùn)行時(shí)間、反應(yīng)池中混合液的濃度以及運(yùn)行狀況等都可根據(jù)進(jìn)出水水質(zhì)與運(yùn)行功能要求等靈活掌握,只要有效地控制與變換各階段的操作時(shí)間,就可以獲得不同的污水處理效果。表1中的其他工藝都是在此工藝基礎(chǔ)上發(fā)展開(kāi)發(fā)的。

ICEAS、CASS和 IDEA三種工藝都是采用連續(xù)進(jìn)水、間歇排水的方 式運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn),都設(shè)有一個(gè)生物選擇器或預(yù)反應(yīng)器,循環(huán)運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)方式都為:充水/曝氣-充水/沉淀-沖水/排水-充水/閑置。但它們也有些不同點(diǎn) ,ICEAS工藝中僅設(shè)置了一個(gè)預(yù)反應(yīng)器,沒(méi)有污泥回流到生物預(yù)反應(yīng)器 中。CASS和IDEA工藝設(shè)置了生物選擇器,并設(shè)有污泥回流系統(tǒng)將反 應(yīng)池中污泥回流到生物選擇器。IDEA工藝生物選擇器是單設(shè)的池子 ,而CASS和ICEAS 藝是在反應(yīng)池前端用隔墻隔開(kāi)一部分來(lái)作為生物選 擇器或預(yù)反應(yīng)器。ICEAS工藝的預(yù)反應(yīng)區(qū)設(shè)有曝氣設(shè)備,而CASS和 IDEA工藝在生物選擇器中不需要設(shè)曝氣設(shè)備。ICEAS在國(guó)內(nèi)應(yīng)用較早, 1991年上海市中藥制藥三廠污水處理中在我國(guó)第一次使用ICEAS工藝。昆明市第二污水處理廠采用ICEAS工藝技術(shù)。該廠設(shè)計(jì)能力為:旱季平均15萬(wàn)m⊃3;/d , 旱季高峰20萬(wàn)m⊃3;/d ;雨季高峰30萬(wàn) m⊃3;/d。北京航天城污水處理工程是我國(guó)使用CASS處理市政污水較早的工 程之一,CASS工藝近幾年來(lái)已在我國(guó)得到廣泛的應(yīng)用,國(guó)外大型的 CASS 工藝污水處理廠實(shí)例較多。IDEA 工藝行國(guó)內(nèi)還沒(méi)有得到廣泛 推廣。

DAT-IAT、IBCASP和BioCoS工藝都至少有兩個(gè)池子串聯(lián)使用,這些工藝都是在總結(jié)SBR, ICEAS、CASS、IDEA和連續(xù)流活性污泥法工藝的優(yōu)點(diǎn)基礎(chǔ)上,不斷完善發(fā)展起來(lái)的新的處理方法。它們的運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)方式和反應(yīng)機(jī)理都保留了間歇式的優(yōu)點(diǎn),但池子的利用效率比SBR工藝要高。DAT- IAT工藝采用連續(xù)進(jìn)水、間歇出水的方式運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn),原污水連續(xù)進(jìn)入 DAT池,在DAT池連續(xù)曝氣初步生物處理后,經(jīng)兩池之間雙層配水裝 置連續(xù)不斷的進(jìn)入IAT池,按工藝要求,在IAT池中完成曝氣或攪拌、沉淀和排水,還可以根據(jù)需要設(shè)置閑置過(guò)程,上述IAT運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)過(guò)程與SBR 工藝類似。但I(xiàn)AT池中一部分活性污泥要回流到DAT池,作為DAT池下個(gè)周期的基質(zhì)。

IBCASP工藝結(jié)合SBR法和連續(xù)流活性污泥法各自優(yōu)點(diǎn),保留了 SBR工藝的間歇運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)方式和連續(xù)流活性污泥法的排水優(yōu)點(diǎn)。從而成功地實(shí)現(xiàn)在間歇式活性污泥工藝運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)中無(wú)需采用特殊的排水設(shè)備,該工 藝是由兩個(gè)矩形池組成,兩個(gè)池子之間水力相連通,每個(gè)池子都有供 氧設(shè)備,進(jìn)水和出水系統(tǒng)。原水通過(guò)閥門控制分別在不同的周期內(nèi)進(jìn) 入不同的反應(yīng)器,在一個(gè)周期內(nèi),進(jìn)水直接進(jìn)入反應(yīng)器Ⅰ,在反應(yīng)器 Ⅰ曝氣并完成生物降解;另一個(gè)反應(yīng)池(反應(yīng)器Ⅱ) 則在非曝氣階段,主要完成泥水分離和排水。在下一個(gè)周期中進(jìn)水直接進(jìn)入反應(yīng)器Ⅱ, 在反應(yīng)器Ⅱ曝氣并完成生物降解,反應(yīng)器Ⅰ則在非曝氣階段完成泥 水分離和排水。上述過(guò)程不斷重復(fù)循環(huán)從而完成污水處理的任務(wù)這 種運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)方式對(duì)于每個(gè)周期來(lái)說(shuō)水力流動(dòng)類似于有曝氣池和沉淀池組成的連續(xù)流活性污泥法。因而排水時(shí)不需要特殊的排水設(shè)備。 IBCASP工藝一般用于小規(guī)模污水處理上程中,目前在國(guó)內(nèi)工業(yè)廢水處 理工程已成功地完成了近20 多個(gè)工業(yè)廢水處理工程,涉及到油廠,食品加工,紡織,皮革等工業(yè)廢 水的冶理。

BioCoS工藝自1998年以來(lái)在德國(guó)和奧地利得到了廣泛的應(yīng)用,該工藝主要有一個(gè)好氧池和一個(gè)或兩個(gè)沉淀循環(huán)池組成。當(dāng)采用一個(gè) 好氧池和一個(gè)沉淀循環(huán)池組成處理系統(tǒng)時(shí),運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)采用間歇進(jìn)水、間歇排水方式,但在實(shí)際工程中很少使用。實(shí)際工程中一般采用一個(gè)好氧 池和兩個(gè)沉淀循環(huán)池組成的污水處理系統(tǒng),運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)采用連續(xù)進(jìn)水、連續(xù)排水方式。通常一個(gè)運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)周期內(nèi)可分成3個(gè)階段。在第1階段,原污 水連續(xù)進(jìn)入好氧池,好氧池停止曝氣,沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅰ和好氧池之間的 上部和下部的連接管道打開(kāi),沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅱ和好氧池之間的連接管 道關(guān)閉,沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅰ中的污泥通過(guò)上部連接管道向好氧池中回流,同時(shí)進(jìn)水通過(guò)下部連 接管道進(jìn)入沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅰ; 沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅱ在排水狀態(tài)。在第2階段,原污水仍連續(xù)進(jìn)入好氧池,沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅰ和好氧池之間的上部連接管道關(guān)閉,下部連接管道打開(kāi),沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅱ和好氧池之間的連接管道仍關(guān)閉,好氧池曝氣,沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅰ在沉淀階段,沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅱ仍在排水狀態(tài)第3階段是重復(fù)上述兩個(gè)過(guò)程。但沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅰ和Ⅱ的作用調(diào)換, 既沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅰ在排水狀態(tài),沉淀循環(huán)池Ⅱ按時(shí)間順序分別處在污泥回流到好氧池和沉淀階段,BioCoS 工藝對(duì)沉淀循環(huán)池和好氧池之間的下部的連接管道構(gòu)造要求較高。以便保證在沉淀循環(huán)池處于沉淀狀態(tài)時(shí)好氧池中的混合液以低速流入沉淀循環(huán)池,不影響沉淀循環(huán)池的沉淀效果,同時(shí),還應(yīng)設(shè)置防止污 泥翻卷的裝置

5小結(jié)

間歇式活性污泥工藝是最早發(fā)現(xiàn)的污水生物處理工藝,它的發(fā)展 過(guò)程中經(jīng)歷了發(fā)現(xiàn)。工程早期應(yīng)用, 幾乎停止,系統(tǒng)研究和大規(guī)模應(yīng) 用幾個(gè)階段,這一發(fā)展過(guò)程與自控技術(shù)和污水處理設(shè)備技術(shù)的發(fā)展相關(guān)。目前圍內(nèi)外常用的幾種間歇式活性污泥工藝在系統(tǒng)組成和運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)方式上都有一些差異。在實(shí)際工程中應(yīng)根據(jù)廢水特性和實(shí)際情況選擇 合適的工藝。
